ERWIN BAND ROCKS!!!
Since I can't find anything on the "Official" Erwin High School (Buncombe County Schools) website that even remotely mentions the band, I will have to share my thoughts here. The Marching Band rocks!
At the Land of the Sky band festival hosted by Enka high school last Saturday (9-29-07), Out of six schools competing in their division, this is how they did:
Drum Major - First place
Color Guard - First place
Horn Section - Third place
Percussion - Fourth place
Overall performance - Third place
They should have placed higher overall in my opinion, but the judges didn't ask me.
They all worked very hard and made their parents very proud. By the way if you haven't figured it out yet, I'm a parent, not a student. My two kids play the trumpet and the trombone. The bandies should be able to figure out who my kids are.
Anyway, the whole band rocks and will continue to do so. The next competition is at North Buncombe high on Oct 20, 2007. Come check them out and see just how good the band really is.
